Boxing Prediction: Gennady Golovkin vs Curtis Stevens; 2013-11-02, USA

Undefeated 31 years old knockout machine from Kazakhstan Gennady"GGG" Golovkin (27-0-0(24 KO) rated number 1 in Kazakhstan and number 2 in the world will face 28 years one punch knockout master Curtis "Showtime" Stevens ( 25-3-0(18 KO) from the USA rated number 3 in the USA and number 13 in the world for WBA World middleweight title and IBO middleweight title on this Saturday (November 2) in Madison Square Garden Theater, New York, USA.

Both guys have big power in there hands. Gennady Golovkin won 14 his last fights by TKO/KO. Curtis Stevens has 10 first round TKO/KO wins out of his 25 wins. It will be 12 rounds fight, but I don't believe this will go for the distance.
Gennady comes to this fight after his impressive win by KO round 3 over Matthew Macklin on June this year. Before that he stopped Nabuhiro Ishida by KO round 3  on the end of the March this year.
Stevens comes to this fight after his impressive first round TKO win over Saul Roman on August this year, before that he won by unanimous decision against Derrick Findley on April.

Both guys were very active this year. Both won 3 fights, but now it is time for one of them to lose...

Boxing News: Deontay Wilder destroyed Nicolai Firtha by KO round 4

Well it took 4 rounds for the USA heavyweight hope Deontay"Bronze Bomber" Wilder (30-0-0(30 KO) to knockout his opponent Nicolai "Stone Man" Firtha(21-11-1( 8 KO) last Saturday night. Firtha was a huge step down for Wilder as his last opponents were Audley Harrison and Sergey Liakhovic. At least those were old dogs former olympics and world champions. And Firtha.... well he looked like a hot-dog seller or gas station worker picked from the street. But what was most important he gave some fight for Wilder and was able to land some shots. Both Champions before were destroyed in  the first round by brutal knockouts. Firtha had no chance against Wilder, but he showed the most important thing that night, there is a way to defeat the undefeated Wilder, you have just to go straight forward from the beginning, if you cut the distance you can land your shots, because Wilder looked poor on inside against Firtha, I can't imagine what the good brawler can do...

I mean yes, Deontay was very good in that fight. He connected his jab, dropped Firtha two times in first round. And made impressive knockout in round 4, but... Firtha was able to land his punches and he even stunned Deontay with his jab in the beginning of the fight. I mean there are big holes in Deontay defense, that even the fighter like Firtha can land his punches. Firtha has no power in his hands and he is not dangerous for Wilder, but there are guys in the division that can punch really hard.

Post fight Analysis: Arthur Abraham vs Giovanni De Carolis: Abraham by UD

Arthur"King Arthur" Abraham (38-4-0(28 KO) defended his  WBO Inter-Continental super midlleweight title against Giovanni De Carolis from Italy.  Arthur won by unanimous decision 120-108, 119-109, 119-109. The fight was really boring to watch. I can say that this was even more boring then Bernard Hopkins vs Karo Murat. What made it so boring was the fighting style of Carolis. I mean the absence of fighting from Carolis side. I don't know was he afraid to be hit into his pretty face, or Italians are afraid of some pain, but the guy was running for all 12 rounds. He was running in circles all the fight, and it was impossible from Arthur to make any action. By the way Arthur doesn't looked so good himself, he was unable to cut the ring and was chasing Carolis for all 12 rounds like a cat after a mouse.

Arthur was chasing him all the time and he managed to land few single punches in each round. Carolis was attacking very rare, but Arthur also always went to his defense stance and it was so pitty to watch that joke of the fight.  Well I understand Carolis, he never fought outside Italy and such a famous boxing star with such a power...  It was seen with the naked eye the difference in power section. Once Arthur almost dropped Carolis by single jab...

Post Fight Analysis: Bernard hopkins vs Karo Murat: Hopkins by UD

Bernard"The Alien" Hopkins (54-6-2(32 KO) successfully defended his IBF light heavyweight title against an opponent he picked for himself Karo Murat from Germany. I mean he picked up an European level fighter to defend his world title... Anyway Hopkins won the fight by unanimous decision 119-108, 119-108, 117-110.  I agree that Hopkins was right to change his nickname from the Executioner to the Alien. I mean what kind of executioner he is if he can't knock out anyone for almost 10 years. He was unable even to knock down Karo Murat during this fight. The alien is much better for him, cause it looks like the rules from Earth do not apply for this person in the ring.

I mean he is the most dirty and unentertaining fighter I ever saw in my life. I can say he clinched his way to the victory last night. It wasn't the most boring show that Hopkins produced. No, he is capable of producing much more boring fights, at least this time he did something to entertain people and that was his behavior inside the ring. Old man lost all what was left of his beaten head. I mean in the second round he hit Murat with a hook to the body from the back when referee already said "break". It is such a shame to hit someone from behind, it is even worse then Mayweather who knocked Victor Ortiz out when he was going for apology with his hands down, and referee even didn't say "box" after there clinch.

All 12 rounds was a boring fight with a lot of clinches, if you saw round 1 then you saw all the fight. Hopkins was faster and much more experienced fighter. He connected more and was able to escape being hit. He used his boring tactics of straight right hand and clinch for all night. There were so many clinches that it was more a wrestling match than a boxing match...

Post Fight Analysis: Kell Brook vs Vyacheslav Senchenko; Brook by TKO round 4

Undefeated British boxing talent Kell"The Special One" Brook (31-0-0(21 KO) made an impressive show when he destroyed Vyacheslav Senchenko from Ukraine by TKO round 4. This was the best opponent Kell Brook met so far, and it can be said that he proved to be a real deal. I mean before that fight he said, that he will prove that he is an elite fighter and he succeeded. Honestly I thought that Vyacheslav is a tougher fighter, Brook is not a very big puncher himself, but he was able to destroy Ukrainian with big hits. This fight wasn't the special Brook fight, where he hits opponents with fast hard shots and combinations and knocks them down. It was more like 1 perfect shot and opponent down fight.

I mean from the beginning it was a bad fight for Vyacheslav, instead of going forward and making Brook uncomfortable, he decided to fight in outside, I mean in Brooks territory. There was no way he can win fighting in that style. Brook is faster and he has better boxing skills, the only way to win is to go inside and to place Brook near the ropes. That is the key to win against Brook...

Boxing Prediction: Arthur Abraham vs Giovanni De Carolis: 2013-10-26, Germany

Arthur"King Arthur" Abraham(37-4-0(28 KO) rated number 9 in the world and number 2 in Germany will defend his WBO Inter-Continental super middleweight title against Giovanni De Carolis(20-4-0(10 KO) rated number 48 in the world and number 2 in Italy on this Saturday night, October 26 in Germany. Arthur is 33 years old and he is little older than his opponent who is 29.

Arthur comes to this fight after his controversial win against Willbeforce Shihepo on August this year. Arthur won the fight by unanimous decision, as he is a big star and he fought in his home country - Germany. Many people saw Arthur loosing that fight, but I do not agree with them, Shihepo was able to throw a lot of punches, but he connected very little, as he was always hitting Arthurs hands, while Arthur was able to attack in furies and land big shots every round. Before that fight he lost his WBO super midlleweight title to Robert Stieglitz on March this year, when because of big beating a cut opened over Arthurs eye and he was unable to  continue.

Giovanni De Carolis is unknown boxer for me. He fights only in Italy and it will be his first fight outside his homeland. He won his last 7 fights against some joke boxers from Italy. He won against Artem Solomko(11-21) by TKO round 4, and against Zoltan Kiss Jr.(26-11) by TKO round 1 this year. Well the guy has some power in his fists, but he is just a B class European boxer and Arthur is one of the top boxers in the world.

I believe De Carolis is very good opponent for Arthur to look good. Arthur looks bad against pure boxers, but he looks very good against brawlers and punchers. He needs to knockout Carolis and to do it impressive if he wants his rematch against Stieglitz to look exciting. Cause now he looks poor in his fights and it looks like maybe he do not deserve a shot for the world title...

Boxing Prediction: Bernard Hopkins vs Karo Murat: 2013-10-26, USA

48 years old Bernard"The Executioner" Hopkins (53-6-2(32 KO) rated number 1 in the world and number 1 in the USA will defend his IBF heavy weight title agaisnt much younger (only 30) Karo Murat (25-1-1(15 KO) from Germany originally from Iraq on this Saturday night, October 26 in Atlantic city, USA.

It will be first title defense for Hopkins who won the title on March this year against unbeaten at that time Tavoris Cloud. Hopkins comes to this fight after not impressive win over Tavoris Cloud on March and los against Chad Dawson on April last year. Karo Murat comes to this fight after TKO round 7 win over Sandro Siproshvili (who lost 11 of his last 15 fights) last year. Before that he had a draw against Gabriel Campillo in 2011. I believe Karo Murat lost the fight, but as he was fighting in Germany, and we all know what happens when all goes to the score cards in Germany for home fighters, he was gifted with a draw.

Many boxing fans see this fight as a big mismatch. Karo Murat is B level fighter and Bernard Hopkins can be called one of the top fighters, but I still see this fight very competitive because Hopkins is not getting younger, and his age must bring him problems once. I don't believe that the fight will be very exciting, Hopkins is one of those who can produce very boring fights for all the 12 rounds. His fight against Tavoris Cloud almost made me sleep watching it, I do not expect something else here. Hopkins had his last knockout 9 years ago, now he is planning to knockout Murat, but I don't believe he will succeed....

Boxing Prediction: Kell Brook vs Vyacheslav Senchenko: 2013-10-26, UK

Undefeated British boxing talent 27 years old Kell"The Special One" Brook (30-0-0(20 KO) rated number 6 in the world and number 1 in the UK will face only once defeated 36 years old Ukrinian Vyacheslav Senchenko(34-1-0(23 KO) rated 1 in Ukraine this Saturday in Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield, United Kingdom. Kell Brook comes to this fight after 2 TKO victories in a row. He destroyed Carson Jones by TKO round 8 when they met second time on July this year. Before that in the end of 2012 it took only 3 rounds for him to beat Hector David Saldivia from Argentina by TKO round 3.

Vyacheslav Senshenko also comes after 2 impressive victories by TKO and KO. He destroyed a human punching bag Carlos Adan Jerez on August this year by TKO round 4, before that he knocked out former well known and respected British boxing legend Ricky Hatton by KO round 9, Hatton tried to come back to the big boxing after his drug and alcohol problems but was stopped by the left hook to the body in round 9 by Senshenko in the fight that Hatton was winning by the judges.
Kell Brook is still undefeated and Senschenko was stopped only once by Paul Malignaggi on April last year.  This can be a good fight to watch cause both guys have enough skills to make this fight entertaining...

Boxing News: Manuel Charr and Robert Stieglitz won as expected

Well as it was meant to be both German fighters won there bouts on last Saturday in Leipzig, Germany. I do not mean that there were any controversy because they were hometown fighters. They both won against weaker opposition and that's it. I can say that Denis Bakhtov even made some troubles for Manuel Charr as he was quite fast as heavyweight and was able to connect big punches and also many nice combinations. He had the problems to connect his punches to a higher Charrs head, but he was able to work on his body.

The main problem for Russian was that he had no defense, and Charr was able to land a lot of his shots. After 5 rounds Russian already looked beaten also it looked like he injured one of his hands and he was unable to continue, so the fight was stopped. Manuel Charr won by TKO round 6. One way or another it was nice fight to watch as Russian went forward all time and used big combinations what is rare in the heavyweight division.

While Robert Stieglitz vs Isaac Ekpo fight was boring as hell. Ekpo played it very safe, as he was afraid to be touched, he was moving backwards and blocking all his body with his hands for almost all the fight. Stieglitz was dominating the fight, he landed enough to win by unanimous decision 118-110, 118-110, 109-119 by all three judges. There is nothing else to tell about that fight. It was super defense, zero action bout of two completely different level fighters. For those who are not big boxing fans there is no need to watch this boring zero action fight...

Post fight analysis: Mike Alvorado vs Ruslan Provodnikov: Provodnikov by TKO raund 10

"Siberian Rocky" Ruslan Provodnikov (23-2-0(16 KO) destroyed Mike" Mile High" Alvorado (34-2-0(23 KO) in a very impressive fight, when after 10 rounds Alvorado wasn't able to continue. When Alvorado decided to stop the fight, Russian was so excited that after all important people entered the ring he still shouted "I don't believe it, I don't believe it". Well he better believe it cause it is true.He won the fight and he won it for sure without any questions. Ruslan not only won against only once beaten tough ring veteran he is also new WBO light welterweight champion.

The fight went almost exactly as I predicted it to go. From the beginning Alvorado used his reach and experience advantage and moved a lot all around the ring, but he just couldn't fight his "brawler" nature and time to time he went for the exchanges with hard hitting Russian.

I can say that the fight went like this for the first 6 rounds. Alvorado was moving a lot and landing rare jabs, but Provodnikov was always after him. As a younger fighter he used pressure, and at the moments when Alvorado stops moving, Provodnikov was there for the exchanges. Alvorado took those big hits very well, he rose his hands up and was able to block most shots, and those big punches that went threw his blocks, he took very well. It looked like half of the round Alvorado is moving and boxing, and when he gets tired he stops and goes for the changes in the inside fight...

Boxing News: Manuel Charr and Robert Stieglitz show this Saturday

This Saturday in Germany, Leipzig Manuel Charr(24-1-0(14 KO) will face soft opponent Denis Bakhtov (36-8-0(24 KO) for a lot of useless titles, and Robert Stieglitz(45-3-0(26 KO) will defend his WBO super middleweight title against unknown WBO Africa super middleweight champion Isaac Ekpo(22-1-0(16 KO). I believe both fights are big mismatch. Denis Bakhtov who has almost 15 years professional boxer career never won against anyone descent, everytime he met good B class boxer he suffered loss, in last two years he lost to Russian Vyacheslav Glazkov, Ukrainian Alexander Ustinov and Poll Andrezj Wawrzyk. By the way, he lost only by decisions, it means a guy can handle a punch....

Robert Stieglitz will have to defeat another mismatch opponent for him. Isaac Ekpo is someone taken from out of space. This guy never fought outside the Africa. This will be his first fight in Europe.  I mean he will fight champion in his home country. Stieglitz is not some superman, but he is well above his opponent. Ekpo has no chance on scorecards no matter how he shows himself. In fact he has no chance against a good A class boxer that Stieglitz is.  This will be the beating that wont even go to the score cards. I believe Stieglitz will finish this one with TKO victory....

Boxing Prediction: Mike Alvorado vs Ruslan Provodnikov: 2013-10-19, USA

Mike"Mile High" Alvorado (34-1-0(23 KO) rated number 4 in the world and number 3 in the USA will face Ruslan Provodnikov (22-2-0(15 KO) rated number 6 in the world and number 1 in Russia for WBO light welterweight title on this Saturday in Denver, Colorado, USA. Ruslan comes to this fight after his very impressive and exiting match against Timothy Bradley on March this year. The fight that Provodnikov lost by unanimous decision, but Bradley was beaten so bad that he had problems to speak for 2 months. Ruslan proved that there is a reason why he is called "Siberian Rocky" and he is one of the biggest punchers in the division. Before Bradley he knocked out Jose Reynoso in second round last year.

Alvorado comes to this fight after his rematch by unanimous decision against at that time undefeated Brandon Rios. He made his revenge for that TKO loss that he suffered on 2012, and he did an impressive performance that night by out boxing Rios. That was nice to watch fight with a lot of action and big punches.

Both guys are strong, big punchers, both like inside fighting, both has strong chins and both are not afraid to go for exchanges, I believe this will be very nice match to watch cause both off them always bring it all to the table...

Post Fight Analysis: Timothy Bradley vs Juan Maneul Marquez: Bradley by SD

After a perfect performance Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley (31-0-0(12 KO) stays unbeaten and protects his WBO welterweight title against Mexican boxing legend Juan Manuel Marquez (55-7-1(40 KO) by a close split decision. Judges scored 115-113, 112-116; 113-115, for Bradley. The judge that scored 115-113 for Marquez was watching some other fight I believe, because his result has nothing in common with the the action that happened in the ring. I mean Bradley came to the fight with a perfect boxing plan how to beat counter-puncher Marquez and he followed that plan for all 12 rounds, while Marquez was eating jabs for all 12 rounds and was looking to land that one punch that can change everything.

The plan of the fight was clear from the beginning. Bradley was afraid of Marquez power so he started the fight with fast in and out hitting Marquez with his jab and sometimes landing his fast combinations. Marquez was chasing Bradley all over the ring, but Bradley had an excellent foot work and was able to avoid Marquez aggression. Marquez was landing very few shots. I mean if you saw one round, you can say that you saw first 10. It was the same scenario.

Bradley moves better, comes in, lands his jab and goes out fast. Marquez tries to catch him in his way in but is too slow and hits the air. Marquez was able to catch Bradley in every round and land 1-2 big shots, but it happened so rare that sometimes it looked like only Bradley is boxing and Marquez just taking punishment.

Boxing News: Amir Khan won't face Devon Alexander

Former well known and respected British boxer Amir"King Khan" Khan(28-3-0(19 KO) rated 18 in the world and 2 in the UK didn't agree to face decent southpaw American opponent Devon"Alexander the Great" Alexander(25-1-0(14 KO) rated 3 in the world and 2 in the USA for his IBF world Welterweight title on December as it was planned. Khan won't face anyone this year, because he is still dreaming that Floyd Mayweather Jr. can pick him as his next opponent next year. That can be a huge payday for Khan if Floyd decides to destroy him instead of Danny Garcia or Devon Alexander.

I just don't imagine why Floyd should even think about well behind his prime Amir Khan from Britain without any titles and 2 poor last performances instead of 2 American fighters who have much bigger fan base in the USA and both are the champions..

Boxing Prediction: Timothy Bradley vs Juan Manuel Marquez: 2013-10-12; USA

Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley(30-0-0(12 KO) ranked number 1 in USA and number 2 in the world will face hard hitting tough Mexican boxing legend Juan Manuel Marguez(55-6-1( 40 KO) ranked number 1 in Mexico and number 1 in the world on this Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. This will be the bout for Bradleys WBO welterweight title. Both men are top class fighters. This will be very interesting match to watch.

Timothy Bradley comes to this match after two controversial victories by decisions against Many Pacquiao and Ruslan Provodnikov. While Marquez comes after his great KO victory over Many Pacquiao and decision victory over Serhiy Fedchenko last year.
Marquez had no fights this year while Bradley successfully defended his belt against hard hitting "Siberian Rocky" Ruslan Provodnikov on March...

Post Fight Analysis: Miguel Cotto vs Delvin Rodriguez: Cotto TKO round 3;

Well Miguel "Junito" Cotto(38-4-0(31 KO) made a big come back statement this Saturday when he practicaly torn apart his opponent Delvin Rodriguez(28-7-3(16 KO) by TKO round 3. This was very important win for Cotto as he came after 2 big losses and it was a big question is he still the same Cotto he was before. Delvin wasn't the real deal infact, but he was tough enough for a test, that Cotto passed with A+. I mean Cotto was definitely the favorite in this fight, but a lot of boxing experts and fans thoughtt that Rodriguez will be able to go to the distance with Cotto. As I said in my prediction before this fight, I see a big mismatch here. I predicted this fight - Cotto TKO round 8, but well Cotto was much faster in fact.

From the beginning Cotto did what he had to do. He went fast forward, used his jab on way in, and worked Rodriguez body and head with his big punches. Rodriguez instead of keeping the distance and going forward with his jab, or clinching was always running and throwing some jabs and one-two from his back foot. In first round Cotto connected so many big body shots that I understood that my scenario for the end of the fight will be exactly what I predicted just much faster...

Post Fight Analysis: Wladimir Klitschko vs Alexander Povetkin: Klitschko by UD;

The fight between Wladimit "Dr Steelhammer" Klitschko  (61-3-0(51 KO) and the challenger Alexander "Russian Vityaz" Povetkin(26-1-0(18 KO) for IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO heavyweight titles didn't bring the upset on late Saturday evening in Moscow. Wladimir won the fight by unanimous decision 119-104 from all three judges. It was ugly to watch fight, because Wladimir used his favorite jab, jab and grab tactics for all 12 rounds and used his big right hand very rare, as he was afraid of counter left hook from Povetkin to connect. Well I predicted the fight to end by TKO round 8, and I was wrong, but in my defense I can say that it was close in round 7 to be over as Povetkin was sent to canvas 3 times on that round.

Well I can say that result 119-104 is fear enough as in my opinion Povetkin lost all 12 rounds. He was close to win first round but in the end Wladimir connected big left hook that stunned Povetkin. I believe Povetkin was hurt with that hook and he felt down after it, offcaurse he was pushed by Wladimir but still his legs were gone. It was in the end of the round and it ended without any big deal.
Situation changed in second round when Wladimir connected very short left hook, that almost looked like a jab. Only on slow mode it was clear that it was hook. Povetkins legs was gone and he felt on the canvas. He was good to go, but at that moment I understood that the fight for Povetkin is lost...

Boxing Prediction: Miguel Cotto vs Delvin Rodriguez: 2913-10-05, USA

Best Puerto Rico boxer Miguel"Junito"Cotto(37-4-0(30 KO) will try to end his loosing stream this Saturday when he faces Delvin Rodriguez(28-6-3(16 KO) from Dominican Republic. This is the match Miguel must win or die. He comes to his fight after 2 big losses in a row. But his opponents were the ones you must not be ashamed: Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Austin Trout. Delvin Rodriguez comes to this fight after 2 big wins by TKO this year. He stopped George Tahdooahnippah on February by TKO round 6 and on May he stopped Freddy Hernandez by TKO round 8 for the vacant IBF North American light middleweight title. In fact that was not a real TKO, the doctor adviced referee to stop the fight becouse of an accidental cut over Hernandez left eye.

Both of the guys were punished by the talented young sauthpow Austin Trout last year by unanimous decisions. Miguel Cotto changed his trainer after his last defeat and now he comes to the fight prepared by legendary trainer Fredie Roach.

Boxing Predictions: Klitschko vs Povetkin: 2013-10-05; Moscow

Vladimir"Dr Steelhammer"Klitschko(60-3-0(51 KO) will face undefeated former olympics gold medalist from Russia Alexander"Russian Vityaz"Povetkin(26-0-0(18 KO) on October 5 (this Saturday) in Moscow, Russia. IBF, WBO,WBA and IBO heavyweight title at stake. It will be more competitive opponent for Vladimir after his taken out of space Pianetas, Mormecks and Wachs. Povetkin comes after his 2 straight wins by TKO against Hasim Rahman and Andrzej Wawrzyk in early rounds. By the way both fighters had only 1 fight this year. Povetkin destroyed Andrzej Wawrzyk by TKO round 3 and Klitschko stopped Francesco Pianeta by TKO round 6

This fight definitely will attract big attention from all boxing fans around the world. The bout will be shown on HBO. I believe last time HBO showed Klitschko fight was his fight against David Haye, for truth that was last decent opponent whom Klitschko fought. Many people try to guess is Povetkin the one that can end Klitsckos domination in heavyweight devision era, or will he be just another destroyed hope. People believe that unbeaten Povetkin has a chance becouse of his going forward fighting style, that coused some problems for Klitscko before...
