Boxing Prediction: Kevin Johnson vs Cristian Hammer; 2013-12-20, Germany

34 years old Kevin "Kingpin" Johnson(29-3-1(14 KO) rated number 10 in the USA and number 31 in the world will face  26 years old WBO European heavyweight champion Christian Hammer (14-3(10 KO) rated number 3 in Germany and number 30 in the world on this Friday, December 20 in Messe, Hamburg, Germany. This will be a 10 rounds bout with no title on stake.

Kevin Johnson comes to this fight after impressive win against Solomon Haumono(20-1-2) by KO round 10 in one sided fight on April this year. Before that he lost against well known undefeated British boxer Tyson Fury (19-0) by unanimous decision on the end of 2012.

Christian Hammer comes to this fight after big win, which was a surprise against only once defeated tough Norvegian Leif Larsen(17-1) by  KO round 7 on August this year. Larsen lost only against Odlanier Solis before that fight. Before Larsen he stopped Oleksiy Mazikin(14-7-2) by  TKO round 6 on February this year.

This will be a big test for the Champion as he never fought anyone from the world level. Kevin Johnson believes he is an A class boxer and he will have no problems with some C class champion. I don't rate Johnson as an A class boxer, I believe B+ is the best rate he can get. Well we can see how it will go on this Friday night....

Post Fight Analysis: Keith Thurman vs Jesus Sotto Karass: Thurman by TKO round 9;

Keith "One Time" Thurman stays unbeaten after a very impressive win against very tough Mexican Jesus Soto Karass on last Saturday night in Alamodome, Texas, USA.  Thurman did as he promised, he knocked Karass down. It was 22 victory and 20 KO/TKO win for Thurman.  I predicted Thurman to knock Soto Karass on the 8-th round, but Thurman needed 1 round more and he knocked Karass down on round 9.

It wasn't a very big knockout, just I can say that the fight was little bit competitive in first three rounds, after that it was almost one side beating for Karass. And I believe when Thurman dropped Karass on the 9-th referee decided just to stop that beating and stopped the fight. It looked like Karass had no problems with that decision. He is a good fighter and brawler, but Thurman is just too fast and too strong for him.

In fact Karas shocked me in the first seconds of the first round when he was able to stun Thurman with his big punch and then he went for a kill. He connected few more big punches, but Thurman recovered very fast, he started to move a lot and land his punches. I can say that he looked better in the second half of the first round.

From the second round all the fight went in the same manner. Thurman was moving a lot and connecting his fast jab and big body punches and upper cuts to the head. He never stayed in one place just moved and moved so he was a very hard target to hit for a slow Karass.....

Post fight Analysis: Adrian Broner vs Marcos Rene Maidana: Maidana by UD;

Former undefeated very talented and too self-confident Adrian Broner took a terrible beating last Saturday against hard hitting Marcos Rene Maidana in Alamodome, Texas,USA. All three judges scored 117-109, 115-109, 115-110 for Maidana. It was first professional loss for Broner, in this one sided fight he also lost his WBA World welterweight title.

December this year is the month of the "upsets". Adrian Broner joined the ranks of failures with Daren Barker, Devon Alexander, Zab Judah and Austin Trout. Nice job. Before this fight almost all boxing experts and fans had one opinion. Broner will win easily...

There were few including me, who saw some questions in Broners ability to take big punches, but most people believed the hype, as Broner said "I don't care about his power, because he can't touch me". Broner believed that he can't be touched, well it seems that he can be not only touched very easily but also dropped by a slow puncher.

From the first second of the first round it was clear that Broner can be touched. And I understood that he will be dropped soon if he will continue to fight that way. Instead of boxing and moving he started to brawl with Maidana. He was caught with some big punches but he took them well. Maidana wasn't going only for the head, he worked a lot on Broners body as I predicted.

It was just the matter of time when will Broner go down with the rate of big punches that Maidana was landing oh his head. And the first knockdown came very fast....

Boxing Predictions: Keith Thurman vs Jesus Soto Karass: 2013-12-14, USA

Undefeated 25 years old Keith "One Time" Thurman (21-0-0(19 KO) rated number 7 in the USA and number 11 in the world will face very tough 31 years old Mexican Jesus "Renuente" Soto Karass (28-8-3( KO 18) rated number 2 in Mexico and  number 13 in the world on this Saturday, December 14 in Alamodome, Texas, USA. This will be the under card fight on Broner vs Maidana bout. This will be the fight for interim WBA World welterweight title.
For some people Jesus Soto Karass record looks poor, but he is the fighter who has his ups and downs and now he is on the top after 2 impressive wins against strong fighters.

Keith Thurman comes to this fight after impressive win against at that time unbeaten very hard hitting Diego Gabriel Chaves (22-0) by TKO round 10 on July this year. Before that he won by the unanimous decision in a one sided fight against  Jan Zaveck(32-2) on March this year.

Jesus Soto Karass comes to this fight after very impressive win against Andre Berto (28-2) by TKO  round 12 on July this year. He dominated Berto all the fight and finally dropped him on round 12. Before that he  won by a majority decision against hard hitting Selcuk Aidyn(26-1) on January this year.

This is a big step up for both fighters. Puncher with good boxing skills vs Fighter with good brawler skills. This fight is definitely worth to watch....

Boxing Predictions: Adrian Broner vs Marcos Rene Maidana: 2013-12-14, USA

Unbeaten very talented only 24 years old Adrian "The Problem" Broner (27-0-0(22 KO) rated number 2 in the USA and number 5 in the world will face hard hitting 30 years old Marcos "El Chino" Rene Maidana (34-3-0( 31 KO) rated number 1 in Argentina and number 9 in the world on this Saturday, December 14 in Alamodome, Texas, USA. This will be the 12 rounds bout for the WBA World welterweight title on stake. It will be the first title defense for Adrian Broner.

Adrian Broner comes to this fight after his not very impressive win against Paul Malignaggi(32-4) by a split decision on June this year. Before that he torn apart Gavin Rees(37-1-1) by TKO round 5 on February this year. Broner just moved to a welterweight division and it will be only second fight for him against the bigger guys.

Marcos Rene Maidana comes to this fight after an impressive victory by TKO round 5 in a close fight against Josesito Lopez(30-5) on June this year. Before that he won against Angel Martinez(13-3-1) by KO round 3 on the end of 2012.

Both guys are very good fighters and I believe this will be a very nice fight to watch....

Post fight Analysis: Guillermo Rigondeaux vs Joseph Agbeko: Rigondeaux by UD;

Guillermo Rigondeaux  stays unbeaten after very impressive win by unanimous decision against Jospeh Agbeko. All 3 judges gave 120-108 for Rigondeaux. Rigondeaux successfully defended his WBO Super World super bantamweight and WBO super bantamweight titles.

Many people thought that it will be another boring match will little action from Rigo, and a lot but not so successful action from Agbeko. But the fight went completely different way. Southpaw Rigondeaux started the fight very active, this time he used a lot of offensive weapons. One of them was an upper cut from the outside and this is the punch you wont see a lot. Especially the one that connects so often.

I mean from the first round everybody was expecting Agbeko to go forward as he always does, and Rigo staying on the defensive stance and countering Agbekos punches. Instead of this Rigondeaux started to use his jab and short combinations and he put pressure on surprised Agbeko....

Post Fght Analysis: Devon Alexander vs Shawn Porter: Porter by UD;

Shawn Porter brought the biggest upset on this weekend of upsets by defeating Devon Alexander by unanimous decision on last Saturday night in Barclays Center, New York. All three judges scored 115-113, 116-112, 116-112 for Porter.  Porter left arena with Alexanders IBF welterweight title.

I mean this was a big surprise for me and for a lot of boxing fans and experts. Porter came to the fight as a big underdog without any big names in his record, but he managed to dominate Devon Alexander who looked very poor that night.

All this fight was a big mystery for me.

I mean Devon Alexander is a southpaw and usually it is very hard to land your jabs against the southpaw fighters. And Shawn Porter is not the one that has a perfect jab. But that jab was landing so much that it was unbelievable for me.

From the start Shawn Porter decided to go inside as a machine and I believe Alexander wasn't expecting that to happen. He went inside and landed his big shots to the body and head. And for Alexander it was a surprise. Alexander can land good counter-punches but for some reason he was fighting strange brawl.....

Post Fight Analysis: austin Trout vs Erislandy Lara: LAra by UD;

Austin Trout suffered the second straight loss last Saturday night in Barclays Center, New York against very talented boxer from Cuba Erislandy Lara. Trout lost this fight by unanimous decision. Judges scored 109-118, 110-117,110-117 for Lara. It wasn't the total destruction of the Trout like it can look from the score cards. But Trout was outboxed in almost every round. And he was also dropped on round 11, but he managed to get up and continue.

Erislandy Lara won the vacant WBA World light middleweight title and now he is looking for some big name next. But I really doubt anyone from major players will be interested in facing Lara next. It is not because Lara is very dangerous, it is because he is very talented counter-puncher boxer and very hard opponent to fight against.

I mean this win over Austin Trout was another very unimpressive fight to watch. Austin Trout went forward for all 12 rounds using his jab to the body, and Lara was moving backwards all the time and 2-3 times in the round connecting his one-two. And it was for all 12 rounds.....

Saturday, 7 December 2013

Boxing Prediction: Austin Trout vs Erislandy Lara: 2013-12-07; USA

Only once beaten 28 years old southpaw Austin"No Doubt" Trout(26-1-0(14 KO) rated number 2 in the USA and number 4 in the world will face very talented also southpaw 30 years old Erislandy Lara(18-1-2(12 KO) rated number 1 in Cuba and number 6 in the world on this Saturday, December 7 in Barclays Center, New York, USA.  This will be a 12 rounds bout for the vacant  WBA World light middleweight title.

Austin Trout comes to this fight after his first professional loss against Mexican boxing star  at that time undefeated Saul Alvarez(41-0-1) by unanimous decision on April this year. Before that he won an impressive victory by unanimous decision against very well known Miguel Cotto(37-3) on  the end of 2012.

Erislandy Lara comes to this fight after TKO round 10 victory over Alfredo Angulo(22-2) in a very close fight on June this year. Before that he was robbed with a draw against at that time undefeated Vanes Martirosyan(32-0) on the November, 2012. The fight was stopped on round 9 because of the cut over Martirosyans left eye that opened after accidental head butt.

This will be an epic battle of two southpaws. It is a very close fight and anything can happen here.....

Friday, 6 December 2013

Boxing Prediction: Devon Alexander vs Shawn Porter: 2013-12-07; USA

Only once beaten 26 years old Devon "Alexander The Great" Alexander (25-1-0(14 KO) rated number 2 in the USA and number 4 in the world will face undefeated  also 26 years old Shawn "Showtime" Porter(22-0-1(14 KO) rated number 9 in the USA and number 18 in the world on this Saturday, December 7 in Barclays Center, New York, USA. This will be the 12 rounds bout for Alexanders IBF welterweight title on stake.

Devon Alexander comes to this fight after TKO round 7 victory over Lee Purdy(20-3-1) in one sided fight on May this year. It was not a real TKO just Purdys corner stopped the fight when they saw that there fighter takes a lot of shots and lands almost nothing. Before Purdy Alexander won by unanimous decision against Randall Bailey(43-7) on October last year.

Shawn Porter comes to this fight after the win by unanimous decision against Julio Diaz(40-8-1) on September this year. Before that he won against Phil Lo Greco(25-0-0) by unanimous decision in one sided fight on May this year.

Both fighters are pure boxers with no big power. I believe this fight will go to the distance because I see no way one of them can knock out another....

Thursday, 5 December 2013

Boxing Prediction: Guillermo Rigondeaux vs Joseph Agbeko: 2013-12-07, USA

Very talented undefeated 33 years old Guillermo "The Jackal" Rigondeaux (12-0-0(8 KO) rated number 1 in Cuba and number 1 in the world will face 33 years old former IBF bamtamweight champion Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko (29-4-0(22 KO) rated number 1 in Ghana and number 32 in the world on this Saturday, December 7 in Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, USA. This will be a title defense fight for Rigondeaux.  WBA Super World super bantamweight title and WBO super bantamweight title at stake.

Guillermo Rigondeaux comes to this fight after his impressive win against Nonito Donaire(31-1) by unanimous decision on April this year. Before that he won against Robert Marroquin(22-1) also by unanimous decision on September last year.

Joseph Agbeko comes to this fight after his win against  Luis Melendez(34-8-1) by unanimous decision on March this year. Before that he lost second time in a rematch fight against Abner Mares(22-0-1) by unanimous decision on  the end of 2011.

Rigondeaux is one of the best fighters in the world, also he is one of the most avoided fighters for now. He was planning to have a fight against some big name but no one was interested. Also he doesn't have a big fan base because he is not a puncher, but a pure boxer and his fights are not so entertaining to watch...

Post fight Analysis: Adonis Stevenson vs tony Bellew: Stevenson by TKO round 6

Adonis "Superman" Stevenson(23-1-0(20 KO) made an impressive title defense last Saturday against only once defeated Tony Bellew from the UK. Adonis dominated all the fight and stopped Tony on the end of round 6. It was the second title defense fight for Stevenson. Two months ago on his first title defense he stopped Tavoris Cloud on the 7th round of one sided fight. Stevenson made a great performance and I am very interested whom he will face next. Carl Froch, Bernard Hopkins or maybe unbeaten Sergey Kovalev?

From the first round Bellew took absolutely wrong tactics against hard hitting Stevenson. He decided to fight as number two boxer and was running all night from Stevenson. He decided to catch Stevenson on counters. I mean it was so wrong because Stevenson is 100% outside fighter. He felt like a fish in the ocean. Instead of using his height advantage Tony was running all night long.

All five rounds went in the same manner. Stevenson was chasing Bellew and landing his jab to the body and his big left hand to the head from time to time. Bellew also had his moments, he was able to land some very nice punches on counter and also some beautiful overhands, but Stevenson took all those punches very well. Maybe those punches could have a greater effect, but Bellew landed then very rare. He lost all first five rounds by my score card....

Post fight Analysis: Sergey Kovalev vs Ismayl Sillakh: Kovalev by KO round 2;

Unbeaten Russian knockout machine Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev(23-0-1(21 KO) stays unbeaten after a very impressive KO round 2 win against very fast but poor chin Ismayl Sillakh. Kovalev successfuly defended his WBO light heavyweight title. It was his first title defense after he took this title from at that time unbeaten Nathan Cleverly on August this year. With such impressive wins Kovalev is rising very fast. After this brutal victory he is thinking about some big name next. He is willing to face Adonis Stevenson who destroyed Tony Bellew by TKO round 6 the same night. I was hoping this fight to go for some more rounds as I like both fighters, but Kovalev is just a monster.

I mean round 1 was as I expected. Sillakh was moving a lot. He was much faster then Kovalev as was able to land some nice punches in fact. He moved a lot, went very fast in and out. Landed his combinations. But once when Kovalev was able to land his big shot I saw Ismayl hurt a little. But he came back fast and finished the round. I mean I like Kovalev very much but I believe Sillakh was a little bit better on that round. So I gave first round for Sillakh...

Boxing Prediction: Sergey Kovalev vs Ismayl Sillakh: 2013-11-30, Canada

Very hard hitting undefeated 30 years old Sergey"Krusher" Kovalev(22-0-1(20 KO) rated number 1 in Russia and number 3 in the world, will face only once defeated 28 years old Ismayl Sillakh(21-1-0( 17 KO) rated number 3 in Ukraine and number 31 in the world on this Saturday, November 30 in Colisee de Quebec, Canada. This will be the title defense fight for Kovalevs WBO light heavyweight title. It will be first title defense for him.

Kovalev comes to this fight after impressive win over unbeaten at that time Nathan Cleverly (26-0) by TKO round 4 on August this year. He torn the champion apart in 4 rounds and Cleverly decided to move to another weight division. Before that he won against Cornelius White(21-1) by TKO round 3 on June this year.

Ismayl Sillakh comes to this fight after his TKO round 6 win against  Kontstantin Piternov(13-3) on August this year. In fact he didn't knocked out Piternov, Piternov just didn't want to continue after taking a one side beating for 6 rounds. Before Piternov he knocked out "no name" Alvorado Enriquez(12-11-2) by KO round 1 on June this year.

Both fighters are very good. It will be clasical fight between puncher and boxer. Kovalev is a big puncher who also has good boxing skills and Sillakh is a great boxer with nice power.  This fight will be epic as long as it lasts...

Boxing Prediction: Adonis Stevenson vs Tony Bellew: 2013-11-30, Canada

36 years old southpaw Adonis"Superman" Stevenson (22-1-0(19 KO) rated number 1 in Canada and number 2 in the world will  face 30 years old Tony "Bomber" Bellew (20-1-1(12 KO) rated number 1 in the UK and number 4 in the world on this Saturday, November 30, in Colisee de Quebec, Canada. This will be the fight for the WBC light heavyweight title.  It will be the second title defense for Stevenson.

Adonis Stevenson comes to this fight after impressive one sided victory by TKO round 7 against Tavoris Cloud(24-1-0) on September this year. Before that he stopped Chad Dawson(31-2) by KO round 1. It will be his fourth fight this year. So I can say that he is very active. He finished his last 9 fights by KO, TKO. 3 of then in the first round.

Tony Bellew comes to this fight after his rematch against Isaac Chilemba(20-1-2) on May this year. He won that dirty fight by unanimous decision. Before that he had a draw against same Isaac Chilemba(20-1-1) on March this year.

Tony Bellew believes he has a perfect plan to win against hard hitting Stevenson using his height advantage. I believe he plans to fight the Klitchko fight, using his jab and clinch. We will see it soon.....

Post fight Analysis: Carl Froch vs George Groves: Froch by TKO round 9;

Carl "The Cobra" Froch  stopped George Groves by very controversial TKO round 9. I have never seen a referee stopping the title fight for the fighter who is winning the fight on all three(even if two were corrupted against him) judges score cards, when he is still punching and he is moving from the ropes. George Groves had to fight 4 people that night at the same time. He had to fight against ring referee, Carl Froch  and two judges scoring from out of nose. I mean at the moment of stoppage only one judge had 78-73 for Groves. Other two had it only 76-75 for Groves at that is including a knockout in first round, so practically they saw an even fight...

And that is a nonsense. Well I saw this fight 78-73 for Groves and I think I am even kind for Froch. Well it is becoming normal to score insane for the Eddie Hearns fighters in England, we all remember that controversial draw few months ago when again Eddie Hearns fighter Burns was gifted a draw against Beltran. I believe it is becoming normal to see insane score cards when there is Eddie Hearns involved....

Post Fight Analysis: Manny Pacquiao vs Brandon Rios: Pacquiao by UD.

Well there was no miracle on last the Saturday in Makao, China. Manny "Pack Man" Paquiao outboxed and gave a boxing lesson  for much bigger Brandon Rios. Manny won by unanimous decision 119-109, 120-108, 118-110. It was a fight of two completely different level fighters, Manny moved on the ring a lot and he was hitting, hitting and hitting Rios with one-twos, combinations and even two fast left hands in a row. Rios was just too slow and he was unable to catch Manny in the middle of the ring or to counter. He had only few chances when he put Manny on the ropes and worked on his body and head with his big shots, but those furies happened so rare that they had almost no effect on "Pac Man".

Many people thought that maybe after that brutal knockout loss against Marquez Manny is unable to take a big shot and Rios definitely has a power in his hands. But it was clear that one year pause from the big boxing that Manny took helped him to recover and he had no problems when Rios landed his big punches to the head. Manny took them very well and he recovered very fast.

It was one sided fight from the first second till the final bell. I was impressed with the stamina Pacquiao has and he still has his speed and power. He was unable to knock much bigger Rios out as I predicted but he was able to dominate and connect his shots for all 36 minutes...

Boxing Prediction: Carl Froch vs George Groves: 2013-11-23, UK

36 years old Carl"The Cobra" Froch (31-2-0(22 KO) rated number 1 in the UK and number 2 in the world will face unbeaten young lion 25 years old George"Saint George" Groves (19-0-0(15 KO) rated number 2 in the UK and number 6 in the world on this Saturday, November 23 in Phones 4U Arena,Manchester, UK. This fight will be the title defense for Froch WBA Super World super middleweight title and IBF super middleweight title.

Carl Froch comes to this fight after his win by unanimous decision in a rematch against Mikkel Kessler(46-2) on May this year. Before that he knocked out Yusaf Mack(31-4-2) on round 3 on November last year.

George Groves comes to this fight after TKO round 5 victory over Noe Gonzalez Alcoba(30-2) on May this year. Before that he won against "no name" Baker Barakat(37-13-4) on March this year.

In Britain it looks like a young lion tries to take titles from an old lion. Well on this Saturday we will see if the young lion is strong enough to produce un upset. Carl Froch is 1/4 favorite in this one.

BOXING PREDICTION FOR THE FIGHT

Well it's time for my boxing prediction for this match. Lets start from the legend. Carl "The Cobra" Froch is still fast enough, he has  big power in his hands. He doesn't have that one punch knockout power, but he likes to land combinations and he has enough power in his fists to knock out his opponent with those combinations.  He has very good stamina, and he has legendary chin. It looks like his chin is build of pure titan. He can take a punch and he recovers very fast. He is very good on ring generalship. He likes to go forward and pressure his opponents to the ropes where he lands his big combinations.

During his long boxing career he fought with the top fighters. He won against Mikkel Kesller, Lucian Bute, Arthur Abraham, Andre Dirrell and Jean Pascal. He lost against Andre Ward...

Boxing Prediction: Manny Pacquiao vs Brandon Rios: 2013-11-24, China

34 years old one of the best boxers in the world Manny "Pac Man" Pacquiao(54-5-2(38 KO) rated number 1 in Philippines and number 4 in the world will face only once defeated 27 years old Brandon"Bam Bam" Rios (31-1-1(23 KO) rated number 3 in the USA and number 5 in the world on this Sunday, November 24 in Cotai Arena,Macao, China for the vacant WBO International welterweight title.

Both boxers comes to this fight after a losses. And both of them want to make a big statement on Sunday. Pac Man wants to show that he is still capable to win in the high level, and for Rios it is the fight of his life against boxing legend.

Manny comes to this fight after 2 losses in a row on 2012. He was brutally knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez(54-6-1) on the last second of  the round 6 on the end of 2012 in there 4th fight. By the way Manny was in control of the fight at that time and was going for a kill against hurt Marquez when he was caught by a counter punch that knocked him out completely. Before that he lost against Timothy Bradley(28-0) by split decision on June 2012 in the fight that can be called the robbery of the year.

Brandon Rios comes to this fight after his first loss by unanimous decision in a rematch  against  Mike Alvorado(31-1-0) on the end of March this year, before that he won against same Mike Alvorado by TKO round 7 on October 2012.

Manny Pacquiao was fighting top guys in his last fights and now he faces softer opposition to get his confidence back after 2 losses in a row. In this fight we will see if he is till same Pack Man and how he recovered from that brutal knockout loss...

Post fight analysis: Andre Ward vs Edwin Rodriguez: Ward by UD.

Still undefeated WBA Super World super middleweight champion Andre"SOG" Ward (27-0-0(14 KO) destroyed his former unbeaten opponent Edwin Rodriguez by unanimous decision 118-106, 117-107; 116-108 in one sided fight on last Saturday in Citizens Business Bank Arena, California, USA.  Both of fighter were deducted two points in the 4th round for unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was Ward who hit Rodriguez after referee ordered "break" for holding and pushing his head, and Rodriguez jumped on Ward and even hit the ring referee who needed some time to get back after that punch. In that fight Andre Ward showed that he is still one of the best in the world and that he is in the perfect form. I predicted one sided fight with Ward knocking Rodriguez out in the round 10, but it looks like Rodriguez is more a light heavyweight then a super middleweight and even after very big shots that Ward connected on the round 10 Rodriguez was still able to continue.

Rodriguez started very fast, as all punchers he has enough gas only for three rounds so he went straight forward with his punches, but Ward clinched him. First round was full of clinches and inside fight while clinched. Ward was still able to hit Rodriguez with his powerful left jab on his way in. Ward is a natural born southpaw but he fights in the orthodox stance, so his power hand is always in front and he lands his jab and left hook with his power hand. Edwin Rodriguez was at least little bit competitive in 3 first rounds. It was more wrestling then boxing but when they were separated Ward was able to land his power jab and his combinations while Rodriguez was only sometimes landing his hooks to the body...

Post fight analysis: David Tua vs Alexander Ustinov: Ustinov by UD

Belarussian Alexander Ustinov(29-1-0(21 KO) won unimpressive victory against boxing legend from New Zealand David Tua by Unanimous decision. Judges scored 108-120, 110-119,110-119 for Ustinov.  He also captures vacant WBA Pan African heavyweight title. This was very inactive fight, with Ustinov always staying in super defensive stance and jumping like a big rabbit from Tua every time he tried to come closer. In fact Ustinov changed his style on this fight. He dropped a lot of weight and came in a very good shape. I mean he was much bigger than Tua, but looked much lighter then before. Tua also was in perfect shape just his boxing plan for this fight was terrible. Maybe he had a good plan for a slow and heavy Ustinov, but Ustinov came completely different fighter then in his fight against Pulev, so the plan didn't succeed.

I mean from the first minute Tua instead of going forward decided to stay outside and was making 2-3 furies in every round. He was looking for that one punch knockout. Ustinov from the beginning moved forward and used his jab and tried to use a big right hand , but Tua has a better defense and he was able to avoid almost all of those slow left hands. Tua caught Ustinov few times with his left hook, and I believe Ustinov was a little afraid of that power so from round 4 he changed tactics and started to fight as Wladimir Klitchko. He was moving backwards and just throwing his jab and right hand  from time to time, every time Tua tried to come closer Ustinov just jumped backwards as far as he can.

Tua was just too little to connect his left hook to the head and he missed those big punches almost every time. From round 4 Tua started to go to the body but he was connecting 2 punches per round so he was outboxed by much bigger Ustinov who was able to connect more jabs and some power punches in every round...

Boxing Prediction: Tomasz Adamek vs Vyacheslav Glazkov: 2013-11-16, USA

36 years old Tomasz "Goral" Adamek (49-2-0(29 KO) rated number 1 in Poland and number 3 in the world will face unbeaten Vyacheslav "The Czar" Glazkov (15-0-1(11 KO) from Ukraine, rated number 2 in Ukraine and number 13 in the world on this Saturday, November 16 in Turning Stone Resort, USA. This will be 12 rounds bout with no title at stake. It will be a good test for Adamek as he believes that by beating unbeaten Glazkov he can come closer to the world title fight against Wladimir Klitchko.

Adamek comes to this fight after his win by  Unanimous decision against Dominick Giun(34-9-1) on August this year. This was a one sided fight as Dominick almost stopped throwing from round 3. Before that he won by the split decision against Steve Cunningham(25-4) on the end of 2012.

Vyacheslav Glazkov comes to this fight after an impressive TKO round 2 victory over "human punching bag" Byron Polley(25-15-1) who looked completely out of shape on August this year. Before that he was lucky with a draw against at that time unbeaten Malik Scott(35-0) on February this year. By the way in his next fight Malik Scitt was stopped by controversial TKO round 6 against Dereck Chisora. In fact Glazkov clearly lost the fight against Scott but because of his promoters influence on that fight he was gifted with a draw.

This will be an interesting fight to watch. Firstly it is interesting how will Adamek deal with a young  pure puncher with a big power like Glazkov also it is interesting how will Glazkov compete with a guy from top 15 as he was usually fighting a guys two levels below. It will be a huge step up in opposition for Glazkov.

Denis Glazkov was very carefully matched for all his career. I believe they were thinking about the title shot against one of the Klitchkos, but after his loss/draw against Malik Scott it is clear that he is still in the lower class. This fight against Tomasz Adamek is his last chance to have a big future. If he loses against Adamek he will not have a chance to fight for a title at least for 4 years. And even after those 4 years he will have to beat at least 3 or 4 top 15 guys to get this title shot....

Boxing Prediction: David Tua vs Alexander Ustinov: 2013-11-16, New Zealand

One of the boxing legends, one of the hardest left hooks holder,  40 years old David "Tuaman" Tua (52-4-2(43 KO) from New Zealand will try to come back to the top heavyweight boxing scene by facing very big and strong 36 years old Belarusian Alexander Ustinov (28-1-0(21 KO) rated number 1 in Belarus and number 32 in the world on this Saturday night, November 16 in Claudelands Arena, Hamilton, New Zeland. This will be the fight for the vacant WBA Pan African heavyweight title.

Tua hasn't fought anyone for more then two years. His last opponent was Monte Barett(34-9-2) on August 2011. Tua lost that fight by unanimous decision, but he was still able to send Barett on the canvas in the round 12. Before that Tua won against "no name" Demetrice King(15-19) by unanimous decision on March 2011. Tua had very big power in his prime but it looks like he has lost it, because he can not knock out such low level boxers anymore.

Alexander Ustinov comes to this fight after the win by unanimous decision against "no name" Ivica Perkovic (19-19) on April this year. Before that he was knocked out in round 11 by light hitting but fast Kubrat Pulev(16-0-0) on September 2012 in one sided fight.

I believe this will be a good fight. Ustinov is a good opponent for Tua as he is not fast and don't moves too much, and David Tua is also a perfect opponent for Ustinov for the same reasons.

I was a big fan of David Tua when he was on his prime. Former David Tua would have no problems with Ustinov. His left hook was so fast and powerful that even granite chin John Ruiz was knocked out completely in the first round when that hook landed clean. David  Tua only had problems with smart boxers, who do not go for the exchanges and moves a lot in the ring.

Boxing Prediction: Andre Ward vs Edwin Rodriguez; 2013-11-16, USA

Unbeaten one of the pound for pound kings 29 years old American Andre "S.O.G." Ward (26-0-0(14 KO) is coming back after more then a year break to the big boxing. On this Saturday, November 16, he will face 28 years old unbeaten Edwin "La Bomba" Rodriguez(24-0-0(16 KO) rated number 1 in the Dominican Republic and number 4 in the world in Citizens Business Bank Arena, California, USA.  This will be the title defense fight for Ward for his WBA Super World super middleweight title.

Andre Ward last fought on September last year. After that fight he had shoulder surgery and had almost a year rehabilitation period. On his last fight he won against Chad Dawson(31-1-0) by TKO round 10. Before that he won an impressive victory by unanimous decision against Carl Froch(28-1-0) on the end of the 2011. Ward has very impressive record, his last six opponents were Chad Dawson, Carl Froch, Arthur Abraham, Sakio Bika, Allan Green and Mikkel Kesller.

Edwin Rodriguez comes to this fight after impressive win by TKO round 1 against Denis Grachev(13-1-1) on July this year. Before that he won by unanimous decision against Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna(19-0-0) on March this year. It was an ugly fight with big low blows and blows behind the head. Edwin Rodriquez lost 2 points in that fight for braking the rules. But in fact he was dominating all the fight.

I believe this fight will be very interesting to watch, because Ward is very talented boxer and he comes from 1 year off, it is interesting is he still the same Ward, and how will he deal with unbeaten  powerful puncher like Edwin Rodriguez...

Post fight Analysis: Demetrius Andrade vs Vanes Martirosyan: Andrade by SD

Demetrius "Boom Boom" Andrade(20-0-0(13 KO) stayed undefeated after his impressive performance against former unbeaten Vanes Martirosyan.  It was the fight for the vacant WBO light middleweight title.  Andrade won by split decision 114-113, 117-110, 112-115. I scored it 117-110 for Andrade and I was even generous for Martirosyan. I mean the guy was outworked in every round and looked terrible during all fight. The judge that scored 112-115 for Martirosyan(was judging for the first time) I believe was mostly watching ring girls instead of the fight that took place last night in American Bank Center, USA.  Even the one that scored 114-112 was completely out of his mind. Yes, Martirosyan dropped Andrade in the first round by counter-punch when Andrade was too overconfident after he practically torn apart unbeaten Armenian in first round by his fast sharp jabs and power punches. Andrade quickly learned from his mistake and he was more careful during the fight.

Andrade was throwing almost twice more and landing almost twice more during all the rounds. The fight went exactly as I expected it to go. Andrade always kept Martirosyan on the end of his jab. That jab was landing all night. Martirosyan looked completely out of ideas what to do in the ring. He was eating jab all the time, moving around and attacking with rare furies, he had some success to land his shots but mostly he was short or Andrade went very low with his head, and it was hard to connect.

Post fight Analysis: Nonito Donaire vs Vic Darchinyan; Donaire by TKO round 9

Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire(32-2-0(21 KO) stopped Armenian Vic "Raging Bull" Darchinyan on the round 9 last Saturday night in American Bank Center, USA.  It was second time Vic was stopped, and both times he was stopped by Nonito, and both times with a perfect left hook. While the punch was perfect by itself I wouldn't call Nonitos performance perfect. I even wouldn't call it a good performance.  I mean I saw this fight as a draw on the moment of stoppage and I was even generous for Nonito. Only one judge saw it as a draw, other two had Darchinyan winning 6 of 8 rounds. I understand that it was a come back fight after a loss, also Donaire has a newborn son, so maybe he has less time for training and less sleep at nights, but he looked poor in his defense and was eating those rare left hands that Darchinyan drops for all the fight.

I mean this fight was completely different from the last one, just the end was almost the same. This time Vic Darchinyan was not going forward so much. He was in super defensive stance for all the rounds.  He was moving backwards everytime Nonito threw a shot, he was almost not using his jab, just he attacked with his big left hand from time to time. What was most amazing is that those left hands were landing. I mean Nonitos defense was so poor that Vic Darchinyan was able to land one power shot after another and Nonito wasn't able to block or to escape them.

One more important thing was that almost every time Darchinyan connected, Nonito looked hurt. After the fight Nonito said that Darchinyan broke his cheek in the round 2 and it was very hard for him to continue...

Boxing Prediction: Demetrius Andrade vs Vanes Martirosyan; 2013-11-09, USA

Undefeated 25 years old American Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade(19-0-0(13 KO) rated number 6 in the USA and number 11 in the world will face the toughest challenge in his life by facing 27 years old Armenian Vanes "Nightmare"  Martirosyan (33-0-1(21 KO) rated number 5 in the USA and number 9 in the world on this Saturday evening, November 9, in the American Bank Center, USA. Both guys are still undefeated and there is a vacant WBO light middle weight title on stake.

Demetrius comes to this fight after his impressive win against Mexican Freddy Hernandez(30-3) by unanimous decision on January this year.  Before that he stopped Alexis Hloros(16-4-2) by TKO round 2 on  September 2012.
Vanes Martirosyan comes to this fight after TKO round 2 victory over human punching bag Ryan Davis(24-10-3) from USA on June this year. Before that win he had a  technical draw against  Cuban Erislandy Lara(17-1-1) on the end of 2012. The fight was stopped on the round 9 because of the cut that opened above Vanes left eye because of the accidental head butt. The judges had it even at that time, but I can say that Vanes had some problems to land his shots against super defensive southpaw Lara.

After this fight there will be only one undefeated left. This fight is not a mismatch. Both guys are in the best form, both young, both needs this win for any means. These too almost started the fight  on the press conference yesterday, I believe there will be a great action inside the ring...

Boxing Prediction: Nonito Donaire vs Vic Darchinyan; 2013-11-09, USA

30 years old Nonito "The Filipino Flash" (31-2-0( 20 KO) Donaire rated number 1 in Philippines and number 2 in the world will try to come back to the big boxing scene by facing 37 years old Vic "Raging Bull" Darchinyan (39-5-1( 28 KO) rated number 1 in Armenia and number  11 in the world on this Saturday, November 8 in the American Bank Center, USA. This is a very important fight for Nonito as he must get his confidence back after his first loss after 12 years against very talented Guillermo Rigondeaux (12-0-0). Rigondeaux also stripped him from his WBO super bantamweight title.

Nonito comes to this fight after his loss by unanimous decision against Guillermo Rigondeaux on April this year. Before that he knocked out  Jorge Arce(61-7-2) from Mexico  in round number 3 on  the end of 2012.
Vic comes to this fight after TKO round 4 win against Javier Gallo (18-6-1) from Mexico on May this year. Before that he won by unanimous decision against Luis Orlando Del Valle(16-1-0) on September 2012. Vic won only 2 of his last 4 fights and this is the second time these two will meet.

First time they met on the middle of 2007 and Nonito made a real surprise by knocking out Vic Darchinyan in the round 5. It was the first loss for the Armenian and the only TKO he ever had. No one ever stopped Vic before and after that fight. While Nonitos career went straight forward from that time, for Vic it had absolutely opposite effect. From that time he lost against Joseph Agbeko on 2009, Abner Mares on 2010, Anselmo Moreno on 2011 and Shinsuke Yamanaka on 2012. Of course he had wins  against poor opposition in between those loses but everytime he tried to step up he faced the loss by decisions...

Post fight analysis: Magomed Abdusalamov vs Mike Perez: Perez by UD

Mike "The Rebel" Perez (20-0-0(12 KO) from Cuba won a great battle against hard hitting Russian Magomed " Mago" Abdusalamov by unanimous decision 97-92, 95-94, 97-92 last Saturday on the undercard for Golovkin vs Stevens. My score was 96-93 for Perez. I believe Abdusalamov won 3-4-9 rounds. Anyway it was a brutal fight. After the fight Abdusalamov complained about some headache and the doctors discovered a small blood clot on his brain. Abduslamovs face took terrible beating, his nose and cheek was broken, also he has broken his hand in that fight. Perez also took big beating, he had  a cut under his eye from the big left hand that Abdusalamov landed.

This was the fight where people were able to see how big was the will of Abdusalamov to win the fight. It was a very bad fight for him, problems started from the first round when Perez managed to break Magomeds nose with his big right hooks that he connected all night long. Abdusalamov had to fight all the rest rounds with the opened mouth. Because of that opened mouth in the middle rounds Perez also broke Abdusalamovs jaw and rounds 7-8-9-10 Abdusalamov had to fight with a broken jaw. His face looked terrible, one side was twice bigger then the other.

It was hard to believe that Perez was able to break Abdusalamovs face so much becouse he is not so big puncher, I believe the amount of punches that he landed 312 of 813 was the case. Many of them were power punches, on the other hand Abdusalamov landed 248 of  662 and most of them were power punches. I mean Abdusalamov landed much harder punches, when his punches connected it was completely different sound then those that connected from Perez...

Post fight Analysis: Gennady Golovkin vs Curtis Stevens; Golovkin by TKO round 8

Gennady "GGG" Golovkin ( 28-0-0(25 KO) stays unbeaten after his impressive show on last Saturday night in Madison Square Garden Theater, where he destroyed Curtis " Showtime" Stevens by TKO round 8. Stevens corner stopped the fight after eight round, because there fighter took huge beating and there was no way for him to win that fight or to continue without being knocked out. I mean Stevens was still standing, but Golovkin was hitting him with so many shots and Stevens was throwing so rare that even referee was ready to stop the fight in the end of round 8.

Stevens mother left arena few rounds ago because she just couldn't see that destruction of her son. But she was back on round 8 and looked much more relaxed when Stevens corner stopped the fight. I agree with her 100%, Curtis did what he can in best way, just it was not enough and to take more punishment from hard hitting Golovkin was not necessary anymore.

The fight didn't go the way I expected it to go. I believed that Stevens will try to go more inside and land his big shots, instead of that Stevens took defensive mode. Kept his hands high and was attacking very rare.  I mean he was trying to catch Golovkin on counter with his big left hook, but Golovkin was more clever he didn't go inside very much, he was using his jab all the time and hitting closed Stevens with his jab and hooks to the body and head. Stevens was able to catch Golovkin few times on counter but Golovkin took those shots very well...

Boxing Prediction: Magomed Abdusalamov vs Mike Perez; 2013-11-02, USA

Two unbeaten heavyweights put there perfect record on stake today.  32 years old tough Russian Magomed"Mago" Adbusalamov (18-0-0(18 KO) rated number 3 in Russia and number 29 in the world will face 28 years old Mike"The Rebel" Perez(19-0-0(12 KO) rated number 2 in Cuba and number 30 in the world. Both fighters are southpaws, both unbeaten, both hungry for glory. This is the fight for the WBC United States (USNBC) heavyweight title.

Abdusalamov comes to this fight after impressive win by TKO round 1 over Argentine Sebastian Ignasio Ceballos(33-7-2) on April this year. Before that he destroyed only once defeated Victor Bisbal(21-2-0) in a very hard fight by TKO round 5.

Mike Perez comes to this fight after his win by unanimous decision against Travis Walker(39-9-1) on May this year. Before Walker he fought only in the end of 2011 against Friday Ahunanya(24-8-3) from Nigeria. He won the fight also by unanimous decision. Perez won his last 2 fights by decisions but it was one side battles where Perez dominated his opponents and he won almost all rounds...

Boxing Prediction: Gennady Golovkin vs Curtis Stevens; 2013-11-02, USA

Undefeated 31 years old knockout machine from Kazakhstan Gennady"GGG" Golovkin (27-0-0(24 KO) rated number 1 in Kazakhstan and number 2 in the world will face 28 years one punch knockout master Curtis "Showtime" Stevens ( 25-3-0(18 KO) from the USA rated number 3 in the USA and number 13 in the world for WBA World middleweight title and IBO middleweight title on this Saturday (November 2) in Madison Square Garden Theater, New York, USA.

Both guys have big power in there hands. Gennady Golovkin won 14 his last fights by TKO/KO. Curtis Stevens has 10 first round TKO/KO wins out of his 25 wins. It will be 12 rounds fight, but I don't believe this will go for the distance.
Gennady comes to this fight after his impressive win by KO round 3 over Matthew Macklin on June this year. Before that he stopped Nabuhiro Ishida by KO round 3  on the end of the March this year.
Stevens comes to this fight after his impressive first round TKO win over Saul Roman on August this year, before that he won by unanimous decision against Derrick Findley on April.

Both guys were very active this year. Both won 3 fights, but now it is time for one of them to lose...

Boxing News: Deontay Wilder destroyed Nicolai Firtha by KO round 4

Well it took 4 rounds for the USA heavyweight hope Deontay"Bronze Bomber" Wilder (30-0-0(30 KO) to knockout his opponent Nicolai "Stone Man" Firtha(21-11-1( 8 KO) last Saturday night. Firtha was a huge step down for Wilder as his last opponents were Audley Harrison and Sergey Liakhovic. At least those were old dogs former olympics and world champions. And Firtha.... well he looked like a hot-dog seller or gas station worker picked from the street. But what was most important he gave some fight for Wilder and was able to land some shots. Both Champions before were destroyed in  the first round by brutal knockouts. Firtha had no chance against Wilder, but he showed the most important thing that night, there is a way to defeat the undefeated Wilder, you have just to go straight forward from the beginning, if you cut the distance you can land your shots, because Wilder looked poor on inside against Firtha, I can't imagine what the good brawler can do...

I mean yes, Deontay was very good in that fight. He connected his jab, dropped Firtha two times in first round. And made impressive knockout in round 4, but... Firtha was able to land his punches and he even stunned Deontay with his jab in the beginning of the fight. I mean there are big holes in Deontay defense, that even the fighter like Firtha can land his punches. Firtha has no power in his hands and he is not dangerous for Wilder, but there are guys in the division that can punch really hard.

Post fight Analysis: Arthur Abraham vs Giovanni De Carolis: Abraham by UD

Arthur"King Arthur" Abraham (38-4-0(28 KO) defended his  WBO Inter-Continental super midlleweight title against Giovanni De Carolis from Italy.  Arthur won by unanimous decision 120-108, 119-109, 119-109. The fight was really boring to watch. I can say that this was even more boring then Bernard Hopkins vs Karo Murat. What made it so boring was the fighting style of Carolis. I mean the absence of fighting from Carolis side. I don't know was he afraid to be hit into his pretty face, or Italians are afraid of some pain, but the guy was running for all 12 rounds. He was running in circles all the fight, and it was impossible from Arthur to make any action. By the way Arthur doesn't looked so good himself, he was unable to cut the ring and was chasing Carolis for all 12 rounds like a cat after a mouse.

Arthur was chasing him all the time and he managed to land few single punches in each round. Carolis was attacking very rare, but Arthur also always went to his defense stance and it was so pitty to watch that joke of the fight.  Well I understand Carolis, he never fought outside Italy and such a famous boxing star with such a power...  It was seen with the naked eye the difference in power section. Once Arthur almost dropped Carolis by single jab...
